As the head of the Department of Plant Experimental Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Gdansk (Poland), I bring an interdisciplinary approach to my work. As a plant physiologist, researcher, and academic teacher, I have dedicated my career to investigating the toxic effects of anthropogenic contaminants on plant organisms, with a particular focus on green microalgae. My current research interests, which span plant physiology, environmental science, and toxicology, are primarily focused on the phytotoxicity of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and nanoplastic particles present in aquatic environments. This interdisciplinary approach enables me to gain a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between plants and their environment.
